Ada & David – Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica

When Aimee Monihan of Tropical Occasions reached out to see if we were available for a wedding in Manuel Antonio this past September, we immediately got our hopes up. Manuel Antonio is where Amir and I tied the knot 6 years ago and we were lucky enough to have Aimee and her talented associate Karen Ogden put together our own unforgettable destination wedding. When Ada and David chose us to be a part of their wedding weekend, we were crazy excited to get to work with them in one of our favorite places in the world. But as we got closer to the big day, Amir, who had been recovering from back surgery a few months prior, was told by the doctor to take it easy for an extra few weeks. We didn’t want to take any chances and set back the healing process even further, so I reached out to my best friend and amazing photographer, Erin Chrisman of Chrisman Studios, to see if she was available to shoot with me. We already had a ticket for Amir so Erin’s husband, Ben, joined us to make a mini couples trip out of it. Erin and I couldn’t have dreamed of more stunning backdrop for Ada and David’s wedding. It was held at the treetop villa, Punto de Vista, which literally means, point of view. Everything about the wedding was special, even the spectacular sunset that we were gifted that night during portraits. Ada and David were the perfectly laid-back pair that just wanted to share their love with their best friends and closest family and have the time of their lives in the process. Here is just a glimpse of some of our favorite photos…

Megan & Huston – Houston, TX

Megan and Huston were married at First Presbyterian Church and went on to celebrate at the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Houston. From the engagement, bridal, rehearsal dinner and finally the big day, Megan and Huston made us feel so appreciated. Nothing inspires us more than working with a couple that puts their 100% faith in us and we can’t thank these two enough for doing just that. Below are some of our favorites from the engagement session, bridal at Chateau Cocomar, and of course the wedding day. Coordination by Keely Thorne Events.

Anita & Howard – Grand Cayman

Traveling to a tropical destination like Grand Cayman to shoot a wedding is definitely a treat for us as photographers.  Despite the heat, inevitable sand in our shoes and gear, nothing beats being with a group of close friends and family in full vacation mode, celebrating their hearts out.  Ironically, we met Anita and Howard for the first time in another tropical destination back in 2008, where we were shooting their good friends’ Jenny and Steven’s wedding in Costa Rica. We were so honored that Anita and Howard kept us in mind for their own wedding 5 years later at the amazing Ritz Carlton Grand Cayman.  Over the course of two years of planning, we were able to meet up with Anita and Howard again, this time in New York City during one of our wedding trips. Anita and Howard made it so easy to get to know to them, so when we finally arrived in Grand Cayman, we felt like we were meeting up with old friends.  The wedding day itself was filled with beautiful emotion, tradition, color and heartfelt celebration. We were lucky to also have a chance to take Anita and Howard out to a rocky cove for some more dramatic day-after portraits. Now that the big weekend has passed, we look forward to meeting up and reminiscing with these two again in NYC or anywhere else our paths may cross…
